Get to Know Your Team:

  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic Ultrasound procedures ascertaining appropriate imaging parameters are utilized, providing physician with a quality diagnostic procedure.
  • Explains Ultrasound procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Assists the physician in performing invasive and biopsy procedures using sterile technique.
  • Provides minimal nursing care to patient, ascertaining the patient is comfortable in the department. Seeks additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary.
  • Transports patients to and from Imaging Services ascertaining that the patient is relocated without injury or incident.
  • Maintains effective communication with medical staff, administrative staff, nursing staff and other team members.
  • Performs quality control on equipment and notifies management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard of equipment.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete required education requirements to obtain ARDMS credentials.
  • Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credentials preferred. Must obtain ARDMS credentials within one (1) year of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous employment as an Ultrasound Technologist
