Montefiore is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations to assist with the oversight of the function at all campuses and off- site facilities, serving as a key spokesperson and negotiator for several selected collective bargaining agreements.
This individual will report to Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations and will join a robust department of ten to twelve employees.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
* Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with collective bargaining units
* Developing negotiation strategies
* Training managers in proper protocols
* Participate in dispute resolution to avoid expensive litigation, strikes and other business disruptions
* Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have proven progressive management track record in human resources specializing in labor and employee relations issues including union contract negotiations and grievance hearings. A JD degree is required and an active license to practice law in NYS. He/she shall have strong analytic, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and be proactive and visionary. Healthcare background necessary.
