Standex Engraving Mold-Tech creates custom textures on tooling to enhance the beauty and function of a wide range of consumer goods and automotive products. Our solutions address all of the textured surfaces in vehicles, from instrument panels to headlamps designed for glare reduction and trunk interiors built to withstand scratches. We also provide textures to reinforce packaging, improve the performance of building products, protect handheld electronics and emboss materials such as paper, leather and various textiles. These are just a few examples of the Standex-touched textures that are all around us, designed for aesthetics and utility. We're looking for a driven Quality Engineer to uphold high standards in our automotive interior trim manufacturing. This role involves daily quality checks and working with the Systems and Automation Engineer to implement AI-driven quality improvements. Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans is essential. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, innovative, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to quality. Automotive experience is a plus, but we value adaptability and initiative. As the company grows, this role could expand into a regional position. What You'll Do Conduct daily required quality checks to ensure product excellence. Collaborate with the Systems and Automation Engineer to implement automated quality checks that enhance quality and reduce costs. Leverage AI technologies to improve quality control processes and add value to the company. Develop and implement quality control processes for automotive interior trim components. Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions to address quality issues. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve quality challenges. Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Lead the certification process for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 in partnership with an external certification company. Execute automotive quality methodologies, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and Control Plans, to validate production processes and ensure product quality. Apply knowledge of injection molding and press lamination technologies to improve product quality. Potentially take on a regional role as the business expands. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field). Min 3+ yrs experience with automotive quality methodologies, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and Control Plans, is required Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
