Job Title: Production Manager/Complex Leader


PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Complex Leader is responsible for all aspects of the safety, quality, cost, production and employee engagement for the Blythewood, SC plant. This position is accountable for a multi-shift operation and plays an integral role in the establishment of a strong and sustainable safety culture. The Complex Leader must demonstrate leadership across department boundaries to safely produce a quality product, at the lowest possible cost, while maintaining safety, environmental, and policy compliance. The Complex Leader is accountable for providing support for our 24/7 manufacturing operation, shift leaders, and associated processes. This person must have a strong sense of personal commitment towards the business and our customers; an ability to foster teamwork throughout the organization; communicate effectively with all levels ranging from primary workforce to plant leadership. The Complex Leader must build a culture of trust, respect, and accountability in a Union environment. In addition, the individual in this position helps to implement organizational strategies, standards and practices enrolling employees to achieve the Plant's business strategy and deliver results.

Span of Control: 3 salaried direct reports & approx. 44 indirect frontline reports.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Champion an Unwavering Adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental Standards



  • Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to OC safety policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and 5S through the effective engagement of the operations employees.
  • Be committed to the principles of environmental and product stewardship.



Manage Operations



  • Identify and drives continuous improvement efforts through standardized work to improve cost, grow year-over-year productivity and reduce quality related issues for our customers
  • Set clear and measurable performance expectations, in line with plant goals; communicating and ensuring results are achieved for self and direct reports
  • Proactively analyzes and manages all relative operations performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies, quality and cost
  • Assign and coordinate work in a manufacturing department to include supervising first line leaders
  • Operate with zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government and regulatory policies
  • Ensure the quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications
  • Ensure effective deployment of employee/labor relations practices (building strong partnership)
  • Follow TPM methodology for operation excellence and process stabilization.
  • Coach, practice & advocate AM pillar methodology for performance improvement and sustenance



Provide Leadership to Ensure Product Quality



  • Partner with the local team to clearly understand customer needs and constantly meet/exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide leadership to all manufacturing process areas to ensure quality standards are upheld and ISO requirements are maintained.



Lead, Coach, and Develop the Team to Achieve Operational Excellence



  • Effectively assess, develop, and manage both the salary and hourly talent on the Operations team.
  • Coach direct reports to drive performance and accountability in a manner that will garner them credibility and respect.
  • Establish and sustain standards of performance across all shifts.



Work Collaboratively Across Departments and Functions



  • Partner with peers, site resources, and functional support to gain an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the plant's processes, and then work together to achieve the plant's goals and objectives.



Embrace the Role of a Change Agent



  • Identify areas where change is needed, articulate a case for why the change is necessary, align the team on a proactive and strategic change plan, and lead the execution of that plan.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years manufacturing leadership experience or equivalent applicable experience



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Demonstrated ability as an Leader in Operations Area
  • Experience with TPM deployment and sustainment
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement
