As a vital member of UCLA's Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Title IX Investigator helps shape a safer, more equitable campus for over 50,000 students, staff, and faculty. Reporting to Title IX Director, this is more than an investigative role, it's a rare opportunity to manage complex, high-impact cases at one of the most visible and diverse institutions in the UC system. You'll conduct trauma-informed investigations into gender discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence, while collaborating closely with a supportive team and contributing to a mission that centers justice, integrity, and inclusion. With exposure to a wide range of cases, this role offers the kind of depth, scale, and professional development that can meaningfully advance your civil rights career.

In this position, you'll lead initial intake and case review, manage the investigation process, and draft findings reports that may be used in legal or administrative proceedings. You'll also play a role in developing training materials and delivering campus-wide education programs on Title IX and related policies. The investigator collaborates with key campus offices such as Academic Personnel, Labor Relations, and the Dean of Students to support timely and equitable resolutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

    Conduct prompt, fair, and neutral investigations of Title IX complaints
  • Gather evidence, conduct interviews, and apply relevant policies to the facts
  • Draft and revise written investigation reports, outcome letters, and case closure notes
  • Coordinate and deliver campus-wide training on Title IX, sexual harassment prevention, and related topics
  • Support alternative resolutions where appropriate and advise impacted parties on their rights and options
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with UC policies and applicable laws

What We're Looking For:

  • J.D. strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Knowledge of Title IX, sexual harassment, and discrimination law in higher education or employment contexts
  • Prior experience conducting investigations in a confidential, neutral, and trauma-informed manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience developing and delivering training or educational materials on civil rights topics is a plus
