Description
Assuring that safe and quality foods are produced by: * Attending and participating in production transitions, SDWT events/projects and QA Tech transitions * Conducting and recording HACCP checks as outlined by the HACCP plan * Adhering to, understanding of, and participating in all functions required by certification bodies (Organic, Kosher, SQF, Non-GMO and others as attained) * Collect and retain samples for all applicable third party tests and retention requirements * Conduct processing, bar line, and packaging CPC checks, as well as sanitation checks * Performing all quality control tests in accordance with the established standards and systems * Ensure that all production and process steps from raw material receipt to finished good shipping fall within the company and regulatory requirements * Reporting all variances in accordance with the corrective action and non-conformance/hold process * Holding all raw materials WIP, packaging materials and finished products that fail to meet the established standards, and seek and finalize disposition on held items * Maintaining accurate records and files of all quality control tests and tasks * Ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are carried out by all employees * Ensuring all parameters are recorded with documentation during R&D runs Practice and perform according to the established safety practices that are set in place by Nature's Path Foods by: * Abiding by all rules and safety regulations as set forth by Nature Path Foods * Maintaining a safe work environment for the team, and taking necessary and proper action when a problem or safety concern arises with equipment, product, materials or personnel * Following all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program * Knowing where the MSDS is located and how to read them * Knowing with safety equipment (PPE) is needed to perform a specific job task * Knowing what chemicals are used to clean with Education & Experience: * Minimum of High School degree or equivalent Experience * 3-12 months experience in a quality control in a food processing environment is preferred * Strong technical aptitude for assisting in implementing new testing methodology and high tech testing equipment * Working knowledge of food safety and QA programs, such as HACCP, GMPs, and SQF * A team approach to problem solving and implementation, as well as personal initiative and independent judgment are necessary * Basic math skills required and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. * Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English language, and understand directions, both verbally and written Notes: * This is an on-site role based out of Blaine WA and is a one year contract position * The base salary range is between $55,000 - $65,000 with a 10% retention bonus at the end of your contract Equal Opportunity Employer
