DEKA Research and Development is seeking a full-time Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our very active IP Team to provide administrative support to Intellectual Property Counsel on all matters as required. How the IP Paralegal makes an impact: Prepare for filing and file with the USPTO patent applications, office action responses, and trademark documents and interact with USPTO personnel as required. Maintain Intellectual Property files. Prepare Information Disclosure Statements. Prepare Declarations, Assignments and Powers of Attorney, and coordinate with signatories for document execution. Provide regular docket reports from CPIto include current schedule of activepatent and trademark matters that require responses, foreign filing listings, and other ad-hoc reports requested by Intellectual Property Counsel. Review of correspondence from USPTO outside counsel and update CPIwith deadlines and other pertinent data as required. Enter new patent and trademark matters into CPI Review matters to ensure that outside counsel is responding in a timely manner. Work closely with other company personnel to ensure their timely response. Review monthly outside law firm invoices; prepare a summary of charges; enter into cost database and forward to Intellectual Property Counsel for approval. Skills needed for an IP Paralegal at DEKA: 3 or more years of IP paralegal experience Proficiency with docketing database CPI Strong computer skills with experience in WORD, EXCEL, Outlook, USPTO's Patent Center and Financial Manager, and with WIPO ePCT, eMadrid and eHague.
