Job Overview

The Interactive Design Specialist serves as a conceptual leader in innovation and brand experience. They lead the execution of strategic, engaging websites that align with brand strategy and push creative boundaries. They collaborate closely with designers, writers, and marketing partners to preserve and elevate the creative vision. By mastering distinct web experiences, the Interactive Design Specialist strengthens the brand and brings its unique products and services to life through authentic, high-impact digital experiences that engage consumers across all marketing campaigns. They ensure the successful development and launch of websites using a combination of industry-standard technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and custom tools (jQuery, Git, and various development platforms).

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with design and copywriting teams to brainstorm creative concepts.
• Conceptualize animations and functionality for interactive websites, including building proof-of-concepts when needed.
• Provide user experience (UX) guidance throughout the design and development phases.
• Recommend changes to functionality or UX when issues arise, and communicate proposed updates to relevant teams.
• Attend assigned project meetings in person or via teams.
• Share execution timelines with management and cross-functional partners as needed.
• Manage time effectively to meet development requirements while allowing for thorough QA.
• Respond promptly to email inquiries related to the development scope, unless addressed by management.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need

Proficiency in Web Technologies: Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.

Responsive & Adaptive Design: Deep understanding of mobile-first development, tablet/mobile optimization, and cross-platform compatibility.

UX/UI Expertise: Ability to guide UX decisions, propose functional improvements, and ensure user-centric digital experiences.

Animation & Interactive Concepts: Conceptualize and prototype animation and dynamic website functionality.

Version Control Systems: Experience with Git and SVN for code management and collaboration.

JSON and APIs: Expertise with JSON-driven sites and applications.

HTML5 Development: Proven experience building HTML5 websites, especially for mobile platforms.

Basic Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): Foundational understanding and ability to apply OOP principles.

Development Environments: Familiarity with Node.js, Mac OS workstations, and Adobe Creative tools (Photoshop, Adobe XD).

Creative Collaboration: Ability to brainstorm with cross-functional teams including design, copywriting, and marketing.

Brand Storytelling: Translate brand strategy into immersive, high-impact digital experiences.

Innovative Thinking: Drive conceptual design and explore new technologies and tools to elevate digital engagement.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain development timelines while allowing for quality assurance.

Attention to Detail: Precision in design execution and technical development.

Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve UX/functionality issues during development.

Communication: Clear and timely written and verbal communication, including updates to stakeholders.

Organization & Prioritization: Effective time management across concurrent projects and priorities.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving digital environment.

Who You Are

• Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
