Schedule: Various start times, 10 - hour days, Monday - Friday, 12 - hour days, Saturday - Sunday

Their presence offers reassurance in times of uncertainty and ensures that critical incidents are handled with professionalism and care. Through detailed investigations and thorough reporting, they support our mission of accountability and continuous safety improvement. This role is more than security-it's a vital part of Salem Health's commitment to exceptional care and community well-being.

What you'll do

  • Proactive Patrols: Conduct foot, vehicle, and bike patrols to deter crime; inspect hospital units, access points, and report safety/security concerns.



  • Calls for Service: Respond promptly to security requests; assist with escorts, vehicle jump-starts, and general public support.



  • Emergency Response: React to critical incidents like crimes in progress or aggressive individuals; perform physical interventions when necessary.



  • Investigations: Interview involved parties, gather information, complete follow-ups, and collaborate with law enforcement as needed.



  • Incident Reporting: Document all incidents per policy and enter accurate, timely reports into the department's system.

Required qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in security, law enforcement, or military police work.
