Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking a qualified and highly motivated part-time graphic design consultant to support communications efforts for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for approximately 10-15 hours per week (with the potential to grow). The successful candidate will be an adept, creative designer with a balance of strong critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. This position will involve working closely with project leads to understand program needs and produce visually compelling print and digital products that clearly communicate and promote key messages related to cybersecurity programs, services, and solutions.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with team members to develop visual marketing and communications products to promote cyber programs and initiatives.


  • Using industry-standard software applications (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), create visually compelling graphics, PowerPoint presentations, posters, fact sheets, report layouts, and digital media products) for internal and external stakeholder audiences using new or pre-defined layouts


  • Interpret complex technical concepts and turn them into easy-to-understand visual content such as infographics or animations


  • Ensure products meet 508 compliance requirements, when applicable


  • Ensure and maintain branding effectiveness and consistency in the design and review process (e.g., adhere to style guidelines and client preferences)


  • Perform in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality designs and products to meet project needs and deadlines; Be responsive and adaptive to quick turn requests


  • Handle routine administrative tasks (e.g., produce project status updates, craft narratives to propose graphic concepts)


  • Build strong relationships with team members and clients.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience translating abstract information and original concepts into visual presentations and illustrative materials (e.g., infographics, strategic publications, digital collateral)
  • Demonstrated experience in use of industry standard design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat) and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of basic design principles and color theory for digital and print media
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent copyediting skills
  • Working knowledge of 508 compliance basics
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and working independently to meet various assignments and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple work tasks.
  • Ability to attain a U.S. government public trust and/or security clearance, if required.



Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience supporting Federal government programs and clients
  • Experience designing communications products and visuals involving cybersecurity or IT topics



Location: DC Metro Area (Arlington, VA/Hybrid)

Federal Contracts: his position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Salary Range:
$38/hr - $43/hr
