HSE Professional

As an HSE Professional at Vestas, you will manage the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs across key facilities. You'll play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety. Responsibilities:



  • Facilitate management and continual improvement of Vestas' Health, Safety and Environmental program for tooling and warehousing facilities in Brighton, CO and Yukon, OK.





  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of safety and health standards, criteria, and guidelines, such as those issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), ISO 14001/45001/9001, Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE) and Vestas Operations' guidelines.





  • Ensure completion of life safety equipment inspections including but not limited to, fire suppression equipment, emergency lighting, emergency shower and eyewash units, first-aid supplies.





  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory.





  • Facilitate and perform all duties pertaining to State and Federal environmental compliance, including waste, water, chemical, energy, and air regulatory requirements.





  • Perform duties as Emergency Coordinator for the facility.





  • Plan, develop and deliver HSE training curriculum.





  • Maintain documentation for OSHA recordkeeping.





  • Coordinate and perform industrial hygiene and ergonomic surveys.





  • Collect and analyze incident and hazard data to identify continual improvement opportunities.





  • Conduct risk assessments and assist with Operations' job hazard analysis of job activities to objectively identify hazards and mitigation steps.





  • Conduct internal audits, including 3rd party supplier warehousing facilities.






  • Assist with Worker's Compensation and claims management.





  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university or Associates Degree is preferred, preference to degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Industrial Safety.





  • Preferred minimum 2 years' experience in a position with health and safety or environmental responsibilities.





  • Ability to work in teams with ability to schedule and self-manage tasking timetables.





  • High level of responsiveness to evolving circumstances.





  • Dedicated motivation to learn new skills & knowledge.





  • Advanced computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to interface with various database programs.





  • Familiar with ISO 14001, 45001 program management, Industrial Hygiene principles and equipment





  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.





  • Proficient technical writing and presentation skills.



Competencies:



  • See and hear alarms and timers and follow verbal instructions





  • Work in-person and in an industrial environment





  • Maintain regular & reliable attendance





  • Climb up and down stairs





  • Must possess a valid driver's license






  • Ability to travel to various facilities as position requires (15-20%)
