Summary of Job Duties:The part-time employer relations coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with local, regional, and national employers to increase recruitment of college's students and recent graduates. The employer relations coordinator will determine hiring needs of employers and promote the college's majors to employers via cold calls, mass mailings, and off-site employer visits. This position will assist with on-campus recruitment events and will oversee the posting of employment opportunities. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's.

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the college's electronic job posting system and encourage employer registration and use of the system;
  • Collect applications for part-time employment and provide job referrals to currently enrolled students;
  • Oversee the posting on campus to the college's students and alumni of part-time and full-time positions;
  • Assist career counselor in coordinating job fairs and professional development workshops;
  • Attend meetings and network at appropriate professional organizations;
  • Track job market demand, use of career services, and hiring results for students in various academic majors; formulate strategies for achieving greater participation rates for those majors that underuse available career resources;
  • Monitor the quality of customer service for the career center, including the collection and analysis of survey data and assessment of and follow-up with informal feedback.
  • Make recommendations as to how the career center can maintain and improve quality customer service;
  • Participate in career development programs coordinated by the career center, including, but not limited to, work-study job placement, workshops, employer seminars, and meetings within and outside of the career center, and other special projects of the career center;
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the goals and objectives of the career services office and the university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent planning skills;
  • Ability to provide recruiting counsel to faculty and staff;
  • Design skill experience or interest in learning;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Ability to create effective partnerships/collaborations for the College;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and exercise good judgment in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Event planning experience;
  • Knowledge of applicable technology and software for editing, writing, and web and social media postings;
  • Experience with Wordpress and/or content management systems and Excel.
