Murrey's Disposal, a trusted name in environmental services and a proud member of the Waste Connections family, is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to join our Transfer Station team in Fife, WA. This is a hands-on, outdoor role where you'll operate heavy equipment to support essential waste management operations that serve the local community. Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including:
- Grizzly excavator
- Skid steer
- Yard goat (for hosteling trailers)
- Forklift
- Load and unload materials efficiently and safely
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform minor maintenance
- Direct traffic flow within the transfer station to ensure safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Monitor site conditions and report any safety concerns
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
- Accurately document equipment usage, incidents, and site conditions
- Provide courteous and professional service to truck drivers and visitors
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment (required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to speak and understand English for safety purposes; Spanish is a plus
- Ability to work in environments with dust, noise, and odors typical of a transfer station
