THE POSITION

Join the Enterprise Technology Services Office's Access Control Team for the Employment, Banking, and Revenue Technical Services Office in this Information Technology Generalist 1 role. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will set up accounts while managing access using Microsoft Active Directory to allow access for staff to support Commonwealth operations. This includes working with Commonwealth, business partner, and citizen user repositories. Work will rely on your working knowledge of the Windows Server environment as well as your understanding of how Microsoft Active Directory operates; how data can be stored, utilized, and queried by various third-party applications; the concepts of user provisioning and virtual directories; and Role Based Access Control (RBAC) for application security. Understanding IT roles, including application development, and the security precautions required for such access and ensuring that the proper level of caution is taken when handling access to the stored information are both key aspects of this role.

Our team will rely on you to apply technical concepts, provide effective instruction to others, and maintain the confidentiality of Commonwealth information according to policies at all times. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. You must come into the office a minimum of two days per week, but this could change, and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires one or more years of full-time experience working with Microsoft Active Directory.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
