Summary of Position JobsOhio seeks a research and analytical intern, specializing in geographic information systems, to support its mission. JobsOhio's nationally recognized Research division is mission-critical, and an important aspect of what differentiates JobsOhio from other statewide economic development organizations. This role helps deliver customized data and geospatial analysis relevant to company decision-makers when considering investment in Ohio. Research fuels statewide marketing and business development by creating insights about what Ohio has to offer to new and existing businesses. The GIS Intern position will provide support to other members of the Research team and to other internal clients. The Research Team provides support for client requests, but also supports strategic planning, marketing, business intelligence, due diligence, and evaluation efforts at JobsOhio. Research has grown at JobsOhio under our CEO, J.P. Nauseef and JobsOhio Board of Directors, alongside opportunities for professional development in research techniques. The GIS Intern will have at least a basic understanding of research and analysis methods and GIS tools. Candidates should possess the ability to understand the problem or task, gather and analyze relevant data points and tell a story using charts, graphs and other formats. Duties and Responsibilities
