Job Overview
The Subject Matter Expert II (UVS) will provide IT related subject matter expertise to the Unclassified Video Systems (UVS) production team assembling and configuring many different ship classes of these systems. This position will be based out of Chesapeake, VA. Work Model: Onsite/In-Office
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for UVS systems to include 28TV, 29TV, 30TV, 31TV, 32TV.
- Manufacture, assemble, integrate, configure and QA various video streaming, storage and network distribution systems.
- Design and develop alternate system/products specifications and architectures for obsolete products or new products that will improve systems.
- Develop documentation for revised system designs/architectures.
- Develop Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) procedures for revised system architectures/products.
- Perform system level FAT for all systems.
- Build all types of connectors, be familiar with different types/gauges of wiring, cables to include CAT5/6, Fiber, power, HDMI, RG6, and others.
- Assemble and wire equipment racks with equipment and perform component testing, troubleshooting and product warranty resolution.
- Learn and configure various types of video servers, encoders, decoders, Television Receive Only (TVRO) satellite terminals, RF distribution equipment, networking protocols and switch configurations, digital and analog camera systems.
- Use various types of test equipment to include multimeters, spectrum analyzers, cable TV test sets, fiber optic testers.
- Travel to other facilities including ships to perform the aforementioned functions.
- Provide thorough, daily communications and status reports to include estimates of time to complete assigned tasks.

Job Requirements
Mandatory
- U.S. Citizen.
- Able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- Ten (10) years IT related experience.
- Travel required to CONUS and OCONUS facilities.
- Able to provide driving record upon request.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
- Active Secret Clearance.
- CompTia A+ Certified.
- Experience with network-based video streaming systems to include RF distribution.
- Experience with TVRO systems.
- Experience with network administration to include layer 2 Cisco network switch configurations.
- Experience with PTZ cameras to include network video recorders (NVRs).
- Experience with network and RF connector fabrication.
Working Conditions:
- Production facilities, shipboard and shore sites with work generally performed indoors. Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external controlled unclassified information (CUI).
- Work hours are subject to change, with pre-approved overtime work as needed.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
- Travel required to CONUS and OCONUS facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and follow safe lifting procedures.
