Job Title: Student Intern(Part Time)
Location: San Jose, CA 95118
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate : 26.31/Hr. on w2.
Shift timings: Monday - Friday(15-20 hours)
Job Description:
- As an intern, you'll work closely with a dynamic team with a background in education, creative leadership, recruitment and workforce innovation. This is a hands-on opportunity to help design and implement internship programs, lead community outreach, and support student success across Santa Clara County.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Are pursuing a degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Education, Political Science, or related field.
- Have internship, volunteer, and/or previous work experience in community outreach, education, communications, public relations, or human resources is ideal.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, build relationships, and collaborate on projects.
- Are motivated individuals, organized self-starters, willing to learn, and hardworking.
- Have strong written and analytical skills, including the ability to develop and manage timelines, and resources to achieve project goals.
- Are comfortable engaging new people in any environment.
- Are experienced or passionate for developing marketing materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, toolkits, etc. with Adobe Suite) is a plus!
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Assist with intern orientation, professional development, and engagement activities.
- Develop strategic outreach methods and produce engaging social media campaigns for the Valley Water Next Gen Career Pathways Program opportunities.
- Improve connections with Student Serving Institutions to assist with recruiting candidates for the Summer Intern Program.
- Assist with coordinating college career and technical programs, workforce development partners, business and industry, employer liaisons, College departments, and other partners
- Educate students, teachers, and local communities about high-demand occupations in the water industry.
- Collaborate with local community colleges to establish partnerships and ensure program alignment.
- Utilize strategic resources, partners, and networks to maximize reach, broaden participation, and increase diversity.
- Other projects and duties as needed, including conducting surveys, assisting in organizing events, and creating presentations.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Be a current college student or recent graduate (up to 6 months post grad).
- Be able to commit at least 15-20 hours a week.
- Live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.
