JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Global is seeking a candidate for a part-time Education Abroad Advising and Engagement Assistant to support the Advising and Engagement team with administrative projects and tasks throughout the 2025-26 academic year. This is a part-time position paid at $13.00 per hour and candidates interested in this position must be available to work 8-10 hours per week during regular business hours. The successful candidate will work with their supervisor to build their weekly schedule around any class or other commitments. The Education Abroad Advising and Engagement Assistant position is based at the Penn State University Park campus (Boucke Building).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Assist with the management of an office email account and respond to emails from students with questions about education abroad at Penn State

    • Participate in events, information sessions and tabling to promote education abroad opportunities, engage with students and their families, and give informational presentations.

    • Support the education abroad advisers with administrative projects including, but not limited to, updating program information on website pages and assisting with student application management

    • Aid in the planning of programming and materials for education abroad participants before program departure and upon their return

    • Support the education abroad advisers with general education abroad advising and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

This position would be an exciting opportunity for a current undergraduate or graduate student interested in the field of international education. The idea candidate should have the following:

  • Strong desire to promote and advocate for global learning opportunities and engage with diverse groups of students, staff, and faculty

Hourly Rate

$13/hour (wage payroll employee)

Weekly Hours

8-10 hours
