Job Profile Summary This role focuses on providing administrative and business support to the organization in order to achieve operational goals. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Program Management duties: Program management, projects, and coordination of resources to meet accreditation standards, support strategic growth, and service line development. These positions typically support hospital-based programs. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. An experienced level role that applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Works independently with general supervision, problems faced are difficult but typically not complex, and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Job Overview This position serves as a key strategic resource within the Department of Medicine to drive equity-centered performance initiatives that improve clinical quality and enhance value-based care (VBC) revenue. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Department of Medicine, this position partners with departmental leadership, frontline care teams, and operations to ensure equity data is meaningfully integrated into clinical workflows. Focuses on advancing the collection and use of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) and Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) data, supporting optimization of the medical assistant (MA) workforce to embed equity-focused documentation practices, and applying a health equity lens to quality performance improvement. Supports all divisions within the Department of Medicine, while also playing a central role in evaluating the revenue impact of equity initiatives across population health and risk-based contracts. This position is ideal for an experienced health equity researcher or implementation expert with strong knowledge of NIH-funded health disparities work and a passion for transforming data into measurable impact. Job Description Minimum Qualifications: 1. Master's degree in public health, health policy, nursing, medicine, or a related field. 2. Three (3) years of experience in health equity, clinical quality improvement, or healthcare operations. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Doctoral degree in public health, health policy, nursing, medicine, or a related field. 2. Experience in an academic medical center or integrated health system. 3. Experience in NIH-funded research related to health disparities or implementation science. 4. Project management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma or similar). Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Leads SDoH and SOGI data collection initiatives across the Department of Medicine to inform care delivery, improve documentation, and support payer quality requirements. 2. Partners with clinical leaders and operational stakeholders to embed equity metrics and accountability into quality dashboards and performance reviews. 3. Serves as a departmental expert on health disparities, identifying and addressing gaps in outcomes, experience, and access. 4. Collaborates with medical assistant teams and ambulatory leadership to expand MA scope to include equity-sensitive screenings and documentation. 5. Co-develops training and implementation strategies to ensure culturally responsive care and meaningful patient engagement. 6. Supports pilot projects and assists with scale-up of successful workflows across divisions. 7. Works in partnership with the Division Director of Medicine Projects and Planning and population health leaders to align health equity strategy with departmental goals. 8. Uses implementation science and program evaluation frameworks to assess effectiveness and sustainability of equity initiatives. 9. Tracks the impact of equity-driven programs on VBC financial performance, including risk adjustment, quality incentives, and utilization reduction. Physical Requirements: 1. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs (OSHA standard requirement). 2. Primarily a sedentary role, but may involve walking, standing, and operating office equipment. 3. Frequent communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings. Skills & Abilities: 1. Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights. 2. Proven leadership in high-performance, results-driven environments, with a track record of scaling population health programs. 3. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to collaborate effectively across departments. 4. Expertise in value-based care, risk adjustment, and healthcare financial models. 5. Demonstrated ability to lead data-informed equity initiatives in clinical environments. 6. Knowledge of electronic health record workflows, especially Epic.
