- Fulltime Operations Supervisor-Logistics and Safety for Tri-State Ambulance
What You'll Do:
The Operations Supervisor - Logistics and Safety functions as a collaborative team member under the supervision of management. The Operations Supervisor - Logistics and Safety provides first line supervision of field staff. This position also encompasses other logistics and safety duties outlined in this document.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the daily function of operations ensuring high morale of the workforce, quality service, and financial performance according to budgeted projections and trends.
- Provides liaison between field operations and external stakeholders; provides input and takes appropriate actions to help maintain a customer-centered focus to field operations.
- Maintains proficiency as a paramedic and is able and expected to act as a functional ambulance crew member
- Responds to ambulance requests and supervises and assists ambulance crews as needed.
- Coordinates and supervises scheduling, staffing resources, public relations events, shift deployment and resource allocation to ensure the highest degree of response time reliability and system readiness.
- Assists in development of fleet maintenance plans, implements and maintains vehicle maintenance programs, both in-house and contracted services within budget constraints.
- Assists in fleet purchasing, design, and system and legal requirements.
- Assists in oversight of the capital equipment program. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines as well as company policies and procedures regarding medical equipment. Reports on critical failure events.
- Investigates and acts upon customer complaints, vehicle accidents and employee injury, as directed by the operations manager.
- Initiates immediate corrective action regarding employee issues or refers the situation to the operations manager for corrective action.
- Organizes and chairs committees pertinent to job role. At a minimum, a fleet committee and safety committee.
- Develops, implements and maintains the radio communications equipment and functionality. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines as well as company policies and procedures regarding radio communications equipment.
- Ensures system compliance with OSHA and other governmental safety guidelines
- Works an average 42-hour workweek consisting of 12 hour shifts on a 4/3 schedule such as the power trucks work. Also requires participation in AOC (administrator-on-call) duties which will be paid at the on-call rate.
- Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Completion of a qualified NREMT Paramedic program with the ability to be licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks; exceptional organization skills and the ability to delegate tasks, as appropriate.
- Good working knowledge of all policies and procedures including local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Must maintain current and valid Driver's License
- Must maintain current certification as a Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO), or its equivalent.
- Must maintain current and valid Wisconsin, Minnesota and NREMT NRP certification.
- ICS 100, 200, 700 completion
- Must maintain current and valid CPR (Health Care Provider) certification, or its equivalent
- Must maintain current and valid ACLS certification.
- Must maintain current and valid PALS certification.
