STV has an immediate need in our Pompano Beach, FL field office for a Senior Constructability Specialistin our Transportation & Infrastructure division.

The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a comprehensive understanding construction. This is an excellent role for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional that enjoys being a part of a team environment. This opening is a great opportunity for a professional to technically while leading a multidisciplinary design team. Prior experience leading design efforts would be a plus, as this could be a next step in your career to take on an office leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Phase Services:

  • Conduct constructability reviews of contract documents for:
    • Roadway geometry
    • Bridges and structural elements (sign foundations, signals, etc.)
    • Drainage and stormwater systems
    • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
    • Signing and pavement markings
    • Tolling infrastructure
  • Evaluate feasibility and sequencing of Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP)
  • Assess Utility Work Schedules (UWS) and associated Utility Conflict Matrices for phasing compatibility
  • Identify and document design issues that may hinder construction delivery

Construction Phase Services:

  • Serve as a technical liaison to FTE Construction Project Managers
  • Assist in CEI oversight related to plan revisions/modifications, RFIs, RFMs, and shop drawing reviews
  • Support utility coordination efforts in pre-construction and early-phase construction where CEI support is not yet in place
  • Aid in verifying CEI consultant review of contractor's TTCP implementation and adherence to approved sequencing
  • Assist in Bid Q&A responses
  • Conduct periodic site visits as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 20 years of transportation industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience with limited access or interstate highway projects (design or construction)
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly obtain knowledge of:
    • FDOT Design Manual
    • Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
    • FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction
    • FDOT Utility Accommodation and Procedures Manual
    • FDOT Basis of Estimates

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Proficient in reviewing standard design and construction submittals
  • Highly efficient, self-motivated, and confident in fast-paced environments
  • Works well in an office team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Bluebeam or similar tools

Work Environment:
This position is based at the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise's Pompano Beach headquarters with regular coordination between design consultants, GEC staff, CEI teams, and FTE staff. Some field visits and on-site reviews may be required.
