About the Role:
The Manager - Accounting Policy and Advisory International is a pivotal role that supports the financial integrity and strategic objectives of the organisation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert accounting policy advice for the international business, particularly on high-risk, complex issues such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. Based out of Houston, this unique Group role provides exposure to many parts of the Woodside business, offering a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop within the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Global Governance at the Group's head office in Perth, Australia, this role is ideal for those looking to make a significant impact and lead initiatives on a global scale. Duties & Responsibilities:
Key aspects of the role include: * Lead and deliver key technical accounting projects in accordance with the Group's strategic priorities, including stakeholder management. Skills & Experience:
Skills and Behaviours * IFRS Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the expert and trusted partner in financial accounting, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements. Focus on complex transactions while coaching others to resolve routine technical accounting issues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and development. * Stakeholder Engagement and Networking: Build and maintain robust relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both within and outside of finance. Engage through active listening, empathy, and effective negotiation to manage external audit outcomes and service provider delivery, ensuring positive and timely results. * Communication: Clearly convey information and adapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences. Deliver complex accounting outcomes to non-finance audiences and provide timely feedback to internal and external business personnel, enhancing understanding and collaboration. * Leadership and Influence: Demonstrate leadership qualities by inspiring and motivating others without formal authority. Support less experienced accounting professionals and leverage influence and persuasion to achieve goals and drive initiatives, creating a significant impact on the organisation. * Collaboration and Teamwork: Work effectively across teams and departments, fostering a cooperative and inclusive environment that aligns with the organisation's values of one team, innovation, and building trust. * Prioritisation and Strategic Thinking: Efficiently manage multiple priorities by making informed decisions, organising tasks, and aligning efforts with strategic objectives.
