Description
The successful individual in this position is responsible for executing all essential duties while adhering to the key principles of project management by bringing clarity to projects, maintaining a positive attitude, and consistently communicating effectively with team members, departments, and management. The IT Project Manager will possess a strong understand of the established project management life cycle from project initiation to project closure and will effectively communicate and ensure its proper execution.
Essential Duties

  • Serves as the IT project management subject matter expert (SME) within the IT department.
  • Helps to assesses project feasibility and scheduling relative to IT staff resources and capacity.
  • Supports the project defining, development, and scheduling processes.
  • Understands, monitors, communicates, and assists in the coordination of IT projects in order to help ensure management and staff meet expectations for measurable on-time completion of milestones and projects.
  • Evaluates any deviations from the project plan, then identifies and implements corrective actions to correct.
  • Directly interfaces with the organization's PMO on projects that have IT responsibilities and tasks.
  • Builds and maintains the project management dashboard for the CIO and IT management team as needed.
  • Directly supports the coordination of IT-related project activities across different organizational functions.
  • Supports the effective and timely communication of IT projects and their status to departments, the PMO, and the Technology Steering Committee as needed.
  • Provides all necessary training to IT staff in the effective use of the project management software.
  • Assists IT management in appraising IT staff's understanding and adherence to the consistent and effective use of the project management software platform.
  • Performs job responsibilities in such a way as to be recognized as both a leader and key team player.
  • Holds the primary responsibility for the implementation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of the bank's project management software. Provides customization for the IT portion of the platform.
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with vendors that provide the bank with project management software and/or services.
  • Ensures adherence to established organizational policies, procedures, best practices, and standards.
  • Actively supports the organization and IT department to drive recognized effectiveness and efficiency around projects.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; keeps project management certification current.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the CIO.
