Job Summary:
Be part of the team at Messer that is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our air separation plant fleet from our central control room located in Bethlehem, PA. The Operations Center Production Engineer I is directly responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Messer's ASU fleet including production planning, efficiency monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Work in a collaborative environment, solve real world problems, and help us maintain our supply of Gases for Life to our customers.

Principal Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the following for assigned facilities:
- Performance Optimization
- Coordinating the production/operation plan with supply chain
- Establishing the lowest cost power management plan with supply chain and energy services
- Drive resolution of identified issues with the site and support teams.
- Drive proactive plant health monitoring
- Drive continuous improvement in the areas of process safety, reliability and efficiency
- On call support for the ROC operator team
- Support ROC operator training and capability development
- Support new plant projects (P&ID reviews, commissioning, etc.)

- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a suitable engineering discipline
- Candidate must meet a minimum of one of the following criteria:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a process-plant related operations or engineering role
- Minimum 1 year experience in a directly related role at the Remote Operations Center (example - Remote Operator)
- Graduate of the Messer Graduate Development Program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous technical experience with ASU plants is preferred
