Job Summary

Drives projects throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Work assignments are typically more complex involving multi-disciplinary teams. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and drives sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable quality improvement. Collects and analyzes process and quality data to initiate, develop, and influence operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced quality outcomes. Facilitates large improvement projects in coordination with leaders and providers to drive continuous improvement. Flexible in adapting to changing priorities. Mentors colleagues in improvement science application across the organization. Drives strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.

Essential Functions
  • Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities, including project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy.

  • Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System.

  • Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders.

  • Ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources, including for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.

  • Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.

  • Proficient application of improvement sciences to drive quality performance in regulatory, accreditation and publicly reported programs.

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate benchmarked quality data and trends to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.

  • Mentor and share quality improvement knowledge and skills across the organization.

  • Drive strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.

  • Support compliance of accreditation in Total Joint Commission for quality chapters.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a healthcare related field

  • 5 years of experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, project management

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in a healthcare related field

  • 2 years of experience with participation on improvement initiatives

  • Proven experience working in Medicare environment

  • Certification from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, Institute of Healthcare Improvement Coach Program, Professional in Healthcare Quality, or National Association for Healthcare Quality Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
