Pursuit Team Manager

Garver's Water Business Line Marketing Team is expanding and looking for a Pursuit Team Manager with strong mentorship and proposal management skills to support our proposal coordinators on project pursuits. This position will manage and mentor a "squad" of water-focused proposal coordinators. The Pursuit Team Manager will use our proven pursuit process to help level workload across the team and have direct responsibility for the final quality of their team's work.

Additionally, the Pursuit Team Manager is a "working manager" position; he/she will manage proposals themselves, working in tandem with our graphic designers, content writers, and business development teammates to lead and execute those assignments. As a leader on the industry-leading AEC marketing team, this position will work closely with the Marketing Team Leader to invest in team development, streamline team operations and processes, and invest in the growth of younger staff.

Core responsibilities in this role will be to:

• Participate in big-picture thinking, always looking to improve our team's processes and best practices.
• Manage a "squad" of proposal coordinators; acting as a first line of defense and support system for their assignments while upholding a high standard of quality.
• Uphold existing processes that see each pursuit receives the appropriate level of effort from you and your team.
• Provide mentoring and training to Proposal Coordinators.
• Manage the proposal process from RFP release to client delivery. This includes "owning" the document, communicating proposal needs and expectations to team, setting and maintaining internal draft deadlines, designing, writing, editing, and proofreading complex proposals, government forms, and quality control document checks to meet all client requirements.
• Coordinate and organize large amounts of technical information, including photography, external subconsultant data, and marketing materials including brochures, posters, project award entries, etc.
• Work as a collaborative member of the Water Marketing Team to maintain the central information database of custom-created content for use on future projects.
• Learn the water engineering industry from the ground up in order to communicate effectively with Garver's project leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (English, Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Psychology, or related field).
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Mentoring/teaching abilities and leadership/managerial skills.
• Ability to both deliver and receive constructive feedback.
• Understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and delivery methods.
• Functional proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint with a desire to master the programs

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in entire Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
• Some or all AEC marketing experience related to the water and wastewater business.
• Proficient in using MS Excel to analyze and manipulate data.
• Proven track record of leading a collaborative team of marketers to execute project pursuit workload.
