JOB SUMMARY

The Head Start Facilities Assistant supports the coordination of ordering, meal planning, snack preparation, and food service supply management for KCSL's 10-county service area. Under the direction of the Head Start Human Resource Generalist and the Facilities and Food Service Manager, this role assists in ensuring that approved meal plans are delivered for center-based class sessions and home-based socializations by helping with food/supply delivery coordination and inventory tracking. The assistant also provides support during annual CACFP audits, helps maintain compliance documentation for CACFP contracts, and assists the Certified Authorized Representative with related responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Facilities Support
    • Helps complete monthly facility checklists and assists in scheduling necessary building repairs.
    • Assists in scheduling fleet vehicle service appointments and maintaining related documentation.
    • Submit completed facility and safety checklists (e.g., fire and tornado drills) to the agency's shared drive.
  • Meal Coordination
    • Helps monitor inventory levels for food service and related supplies
    • Assists in the procurement of meal service, janitorial, and sanitation supplies
    • Supports the review of meal reports, temperature records, and related documentation in ChildPlus for center-based programming.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Two years of experience in office setting.
  • Prior food service experience.
