Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $120,136 - $380,067. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior anticipates openings for outstanding clinician scientists at the Assistant / Associate / Full Professor level for the Professor In Residence series.

The Department prefers candidates with a demonstrated record of impactful, competitively funded clinical or translational research in major mental health conditions, such as mood disorders (including major depression and bipolar disorder), neurodevelopmental disorders, psychosis, and addiction. The scope and significance of the research portfolio should align with the candidate's proposed academic rank, with the understanding that expectations for research leadership and funding vary by level (e.g., Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a new research program leveraging the rich and uniquely collaborative intellectual environment and research infrastructure of the University of California at Irvine. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the educational mission of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.

Salaries are based on University of California salary scales, which are dependent on academic rank and step, and commensurate with experience. For candidates with clinical degrees applicants should be eligible for a California Medical License and membership on the Medical Staff at the University of California, Irvine. Based on clinical productivity there is opportunity to earn additional salary for clinically active faculty.
