Overview
The Patient Credit Specialist will serve as the main facilitator for all patient refunds. In addition, this role will be responsible for administrative work including but not limited to responding to email inquiries, reporting and analyzing data, as well as inbound and outbound patient contacts. This role will ensure that Tactile Medical maintains compliance with timelines to refund patients. A successful Patient Credit Specialist will have excellent attention to detail, a proactive approach, an ability to meet deadlines, eagerness to learn and develop skills, and a commitment to the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Review patient credit balances and make outbound calls to patients to determine how to send the refund to patient
- Research patient accounts in Brightree to identify if patient is owed a refund. If refund to patient is warranted, then reach out to patient and process refund
- Coordinate and conduct administrative reporting to update and maintain patient information
- Ensure that all financial reports necessary are completed to adhere to deadlines
- Effectively communicate patient issues and grievances through internal reporting system, and with cross-functional teams
- Assist with testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of new processes
- Perform all job duties while maintaining compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements including SEC, IRS and HIPAA
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Required:
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience
- 1-3+ years experience working in healthcare, customer service, or a call center environment
- Previous experience with medical billing and collections
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluent working with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience in reviewing patient accounts in Brightree
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong motivation to succeed as a self-starter
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with all different types of patients
- Commitment to the patient experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and seek support to resolve issues quickly and accurately

Below is the starting salary range for this position, although offers may differ based on the candidate's location, job-specific knowledge, skills and experience.
$23.89 - $31.35 / HR
