This is an onsite position based in Gaithersburg, MD - Fulltime, 3-5 days per week, June 2025 - December 2025. Candidates requiring relocation will not be considered for the position.

At Miltenyi Biotec we are looking for an Intern (6 months, 30 hours/week) an IT Device Integration Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in integrating laboratory, manufacturing, and research devices while making a meaningful impact on products in development. You will assist in analyzing system requirements, documenting technical specifications, and supporting IT validation processes.

What You'll Do:



  • Asset Management & Documentation:


    • Assist in documenting OT (Operational Technology) devices within the CMDB.
    • Support the development of IT system and platform documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.


  • IT & System Integration:


    • Help gather and document system owner requirements.
    • Support the creation of User Requirement Specifications (URS) and assist in Functional Specification (FS) documentation.
    • Assist in IT infrastructure tasks, including networking, device setup, and security compliance.
    • Contribute to the preparation of Installation Qualification (IQ) / Operational Qualification (OQ) documentation.


  • Project Support:


    • Assist in planning and coordinating IT projects related to OT system integration.
    • Support compliance efforts for system validation and audits.
    • Work with various IT groups and departments to ensure smooth system adoption and security compliance.


  • Training & Collaboration:


    • Work with the Quality team to educate system owners on IT responsibilities.
    • Assist in change management and user training efforts.



What We're Looking For:



  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and Active Directory.
  • Interest in lab software, LIMS, MES, Historian, ERP, and IT security is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a high-compliance environment (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare).

Work Environment:

The anticipated salary range has been established at $23 - $25/hour. The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $23 - $25/hour, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
