Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Simulation Operations Associate.The Simulation Operations Associate will work with the NYSIM staff to assure programmatic needs for our users are fulfilled and to maintain the facility in the best possible condition. Reporting directly to the Associate Medical and Nursing Directors, the duties will include helping to schedule and reserve space for training exercises and meetings, setting up before and breaking down after user programs, maintaining equipment and simulation rooms, keeping an inventory of supplies and ordering supplies when needed, proctoring training sessions, and tracking expenditures related to programs. The Simulation Operations Associate will have direct responsibility for the OSCE wing with respect to these duties, but will also assist the Simulation Coordinator and others in providing these services for other areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate to make sure the exercise runs on time; all encounters are recorded with audio/visual equipment. Provide logistical support for exercises. Update training handbook for assistant proctors with any logistical changes made to events
  • Monitor and control daily operations in the facility and assist with other special projects or initiatives.Train and coordinate proctors in the smooth delivery of exercises. Pvide assistance to proctors in case of any unexpected problems with the video equipment/computer system
  • "Enter and modify cases, schedule students per exam. Generate reports for faculty regarding student performance. Compiles learner outcome data. Schedule classrooms used for exercises. Master and serve as a resource for the EMS system for recording and playback of scenarios, and for the generation of reports from training sessions"
  • Update and maintain the Standardized Patient Program website. Maintain Standardized Patient contact information, demographic information, and training information. Create, track, verify, and disseminate information on financial activity of Standardized Patient Program. Communicate payroll data every pay period for all hours worked, and for all Standardized Patient activities. Interview prospective Standardized Patients in initial phone screening
  • Assist in the collection of research data.
  • Assist and provide support to the Simulation Coordinator in the operation of the simulation program including operation of the simulator equipment, room set up and clean up for simulation sessions. Monitor simulated exercises and provide evaluation forms for users to complete.
  • Solicit instructor and student feedback following simulation experiences.Assist faculty with conference workshops. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices for the Center.
  • Maintain facility as a clean, safe and operational facility and optimal learning environment. Set up and clean up rooms for training sessions. Maintain checklist of all equipment and supplies in each room.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree. This person will need to have flexible working hours in order to assist others with providing coverage for opening and closing of the Center, and for providing assistance to our users for off hour programs.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $30.00 - $30.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
