SUMMARY:

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a strategic executive responsible for leading key functions of the organization, including marketing, proposals, contracts, and business development. This dynamic role is focused on executing corporate strategy, expanding market presence, optimizing the revenue pipeline, and driving sustainable business growth across all customer segments. The CRO leads cross-functional teams to create integrated campaigns, compelling proposals, strategic partnerships, and a consistent brand message that aligns with company goals and enhances customer experience.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Revenue Leadership

  • Execute the current strategic plan in partnership with senior leadership and contribute to future growth strategies.
  • Monitor marketplace dynamics, evaluate business opportunities, and develop competitive strategies.
  • Collaborate with the business units, finance, and sales teams on pricing, messaging, and business models to meet revenue goals.


Team Management & Cross-Functional Integration

  • Lead and manage the marketing, proposals, contracts, and business development teams.
  • Build high-performance teams committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team leads and junior staff; foster a positive and productive work culture.


Marketing & Branding Oversight

  • Oversee brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Direct multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, print, trade shows) to support business goals.
  • Drive lead generation strategies and measure performance of campaigns and content initiatives.


Proposal Strategy & Development

  • Oversee the development and submission of compliant, compelling federal, state, and commercial proposals.
  • Lead proposal planning activities including outlines, schedules, compliance matrices, and win themes.
  • Ensure quality control of proposals through rigorous review cycles (Pink, Red Teams, Final QA).


Partnership & Customer Engagement

  • Cultivate relationships with existing and new strategic partners to expand market reach.
  • Stay connected to customer needs and feedback loops for continuous improvement and product alignment.


Revenue Optimization & Pipeline Management

  • Monitor the revenue pipeline, adjusting strategy and focus to drive sustainable growth.
  • Evaluate and refine business metrics, reporting structures, and KPIs to track performance and ROI.


Contracting & Negotiation

  • Participate in major contract negotiations, ensuring strategic alignment and profitability.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with a track record of revenue growth across marketing, proposals, and business development functions.
  • Demonstrated success in driving go-to-market strategies, proposal management, and campaign execution.
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR, DFARS) and proposal cost structures.
  • Proven ability to synthesize customer needs, market trends, and internal goals into actionable strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and marketing/proposal management tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.



EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required.

Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.


COMPENSATION:

Salary Range: $130K - $175K annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
