Position Summary

The Technical Sales Engineer will combine technical expertise and business acumen to support and advance our machine and automation sales staff, working collaboratively throughout the organization. The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for preparing timely and accurate proposals as well as creating and utilizing sales tools for complex, highly engineered products. The successful candidate will utilize sound judgment and apply a clear understanding of our products to achieve success. Interfaces with the VP of Sales to meet the needs of the outside sales team through the deployment of technical sales activities.

Essential Functions

*Provide the outside sales team with complete and compelling quotes for delivery to the Customer

*Drives the quoting process so that standard and special quotes are prepared for timely delivery with minimal disruption to supporting departments

*Create standard quoting tools that pull technical, cost, and logistics details from the organization so quotes can be issued easily with confidence

*Provide input for product offering strategies, new product possibilities, and product improvement needs

Position Requirements

*5 + years technical sales, estimating, engineering, business development, or related experience in a manufacturing environment and an associate's degree in a related area

*Demonstrated capability in understanding complex products and technical subjects with a big picture view from concept to delivery, mechanically inclined, and able to understand how things work

*Curiosity about automation, industry, and international business

*Good at pulling ideas from others to create an overall vision that is commercially viable

*Ability to simplify complex ideas and information to present critical information quickly and completely

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

*Regularly sits throughout the day with extensive computer work

*Regularly utilizes depth perception, peripheral vision, and close focus to operate a computer, computer accessories, and phone equipment
