From your PASSION to ours The Carrier Specialist will support the transportation leadership team in all aspects of carrier relationship management on behalf of Lactalis USA. This position supports the analysis of new providers, the performance of existing providers, and will assist in the management of all Lactalis USA transportation bids. This position involves working with many departments within the company, such as customer service, warehousing, procurement and the transport operations team as well as all of our Transportation Carrier partners and the LUSA Distribution Network operations leadership. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: * Support the analysis of Transportation bids including the develop of the templates used by external partners and the framework by which we analyze responses * Evaluate Lactalis transportation rates against the external transportation market using trade literature and market analysis tools * Create and maintain carrier scorecards based on our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Assist in the onboarding of new transportation providers that result from contract negotiation, through systems set up, to operational go live and invoicing * Maintain carrier contract repositories including master agreements, rate addendums, certificates of insurance, W-9s, and other relevant documentation * Report on savings achieved through changes in our carrier network and highlight gaps between expected and actual results * Ensure that rates established in our transportation management system reflect the contract agreements and are implemented timely * Support sustainable transportation initiatives for the modes of transport including Rail, Over the Road, and Intermodal, Electric Vehicles, and alternative fuels, within our transportation network * Constantly analyze cost and service to determine weaknesses in our carrier base that require intervention * Support Management in conducting business reviews with our carrier partners * The Carrier Specialist will often independently represent the company in the interactions, written and verbal, in person and remote, with the Transportation community * This position may involve travel to carrier locations and visits to Lactalis warehouses and corporate offices around the US * Excellent written and verbal communication is required. * This description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education * Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required; * Masters degree or higher preferred; or equivalent experience to include a minimum of five (5) years job related experience Experience * 5+ years related experience required * Experience in Transportation is required * Experience in Food Industry preferred * Specialized Knowledge * Transportation Management Systems is required Skills / Abilities * Superior communication skills, written and verbal. * Proficient in Microsoft Office; Microsoft Access is a plus At Lactalis, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards Program with a variety of affordable benefits and coverage options.
