The Salvation Army's Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The division is home to 26 Worship and Community Centers (Corps), 67 service extension units, a camp, as well as multiple homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries. Service extension units are branches of The Salvation Army in communities where Corps are not located but service is provided by committees of volunteers. As a whole, our organization is made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, adherents, employees, volunteers and other individuals all working together to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, as well as working to meet the physical needs of those less fortunate. The Regional Bookkeeper II is responsible for accounting of receipts, invoices, journals and disbursements for all accounts for assigned corps in the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division.

About the role:



  • Records all deposits made by Corps using the available accounting system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Enters all invoices received by the Corps and issues checks weekly
  • Reconciles all vendor statements for accuracy/payments
  • Submits State sales taxes if applicable
  • Maintains cash log of all bank activity
  • Reconciles bank statements to ledger balances monthly for all cash accounts
  • Maintains organized filing for all items related to receipts and invoices
  • Prepares all monthly and year-end reports, including financial statements, bank reconciliations, aged accounts payable, 1099 reports, etc..
  • Reviews ledgers monthly to assure accuracy, including independent general ledger reconciliation to identify errors and variances
  • Prepares schedules as required for both internal and external audits
  • Prepares and allocates public funding grant billing according to allowable grant compliance - working with WUM Social Services and Corps Social Services Director


Education: Associates Degree in Accounting

Experience: 3 years of Accounting or bookkeeping experience
