Location: Everett, WA 98204

Pay Rate: $75/hr. to $80/hr. on W2

Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night: 1st shift

Duration: 6+ months

Job Description:

  • Design/assemble test fixtures and lead a small team of technicians and possible other engineers to execute static/abuse/cycle testing of airplane closets, galleys, lavatories and other aircraft interior monuments in a noisy, light industrial environment. This is a hands-on job that can occasionally be physically intense. You will also design, document, fabricate and assemble test fixtures. There would be an expectation to assist technicians with test setups while doing any coordinating necessary to complete testing on time. The test engineer will be aware of all aspects of a specific program and will be a source of knowledge about what needs to be achieved to succeed. Priorities are constantly changing as due dates move so the ability to adjust on the fly is crucial. Long hours and tight schedules are not unexpected.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing Static, Abuse, and Cycle testing of aircraft lavatories, galleys, and closets
  • Collects data and performs data reduction/analysis to provide to multiple clients
  • Verifies data from other engineers to ensure accuracy and quality deliverables to customers
  • Oversees the design and manufacturing of equipment and test fixtures to ensure successful testing
  • Automate Static tests through the use of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders
  • Ensures that the testing equipment and instrumentation are in compliance to specifications
  • Documents test results and maintains records for later analysis.
  • Coordinates with other departments who will be affected by testing.
  • Confirms testing practices are in accordance to necessary regulations to ensure safety and quality
  • Establishes validation standards and develops/improves testing protocols.
  • Mentors to engineers/technicians and provides insight on Client ideas


Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working on Static, Abuse and Cycle testing (including, but not limited to, writing test reports, executing qualification tests, collecting data etc.)
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous static/abuse/cycle testing experience (specifically aerospace) Aerospace or related manufacturing industry
  • Experience designing electro-mechanical test setups and test rigs
  • Exposure to LabVIEW CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or Inventor Pro Microsoft Office products
  • Working with hand and power tools (grinders, saws, impacts, drills, etc.)
  • Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino), pneumatic cylinders/ solenoids, and basic electrical systems (AC/DC)
  • Experience with designing/fabricating standard plates, bracket, etc. in steel/aluminum/wood
  • Experience writing Test Plans/Reports
  • Experience with reading/interpreting/executing test plans written by others
  • Experience with simple electronics for cycle test execution
  • Able to convey general instructions to technicians in order to achieve daily tasks.
  • Able to communicate and work with design/stress engineers to help design test fixtures and execute tests
  • Ability to professionally communicate with test witnesses when on site.
  • Experience with hydraulic, simple pneumatic and simple electrical systems.
  • Capable of troubleshooting hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical issues.
  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools (grinders, saws, impacts, drills, etc.)
  • Experience with fabrication work (mechanical: carpentry and/or metalworking).
  • General Assembly of Parts.
  • Cleaning is a REQUIREMENT for this job!
