*Job Title:* Denials Specialist
*Job Type:* Open-Ended Contract *Location: *100% Remote *(Excluding AK, AR, DE, HI, ME, MS, NM, OK, PR, SD, VT, WI)* About the Role We're seeking a Denials Specialist to join a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare company focused on reversing type 2 diabetes through innovative telehealth solutions. This is not your typical denials role-you'll need strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to build relationships with payer contacts to resolve complex claim issues. This is a remote, open-ended contract position with long-term potential for top performers. If you're tech-savvy, Excel-proficient, and passionate about solving problems, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do * Investigate denied claims using payer portals and internal systems (e.g., Athena). * Collaborate with internal Revenue Cycle Specialists to determine root causes of denials. * Categorize unpaid amounts by denial reason (e.g., copays, deductibles, coding errors). * Correct and resubmit claims to payers. * Maintain detailed tracking and documentation in Excel/Google Sheets. * Communicate directly with payer representatives to resolve issues and build strong working relationships. What You Bring Must-Have Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience in denials management. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Experience using payer portals to pull denial reports and resubmit claims. * Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (sort, filter, formulas; VLOOKUP and pivot tables a plus). * Comfortable working on a Mac with dual monitors. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. * Tech-savvy and self-motivated. * HIPAA-compliant home office setup (private room, secure internet). Preferred: * Experience in a startup or fast-paced healthcare environment. * Interest in revenue cycle growth and leadership opportunities. Work Environment * 100% remote (except in excluded states). * Part-time hours during training (starting at *8 AM MST *for ~4 weeks). * Full-time hours post-training (start after *7 AM MST*, end by *5 PM MST*). * Must provide own equipment: dual monitors, wireless keyboard & mouse compatible with Mac.
