Job Description |
ECU Department of Recycling Services is currently seeking a Recycling Intern to work 20 hours per week for $15 per hour.
The duties for this internship include:
- The primary focus of this role will be to gather blue bags from campus and transport them to the laydown yard at the Grounds Complex for sorting on a daily basis
- The intern may be asked to help with waste audit activities for the Green Office Program, Landfill on the Lawn, and other events
- The intern will use an ECU Facilities Services truck to stop at the most popular tailgate lots and distribute blue recycling bags with another intern and educate tailgaters about proper recycling practices. This means that the student selected for this position must be available and willing to work during the 4 hours leading up to kickoff for each of the home games scheduled for the fall 2025 season as well as the day after each game to help ECU Recycling Services staff collect all the recyclables from the tailgate lots:
- Saturday, September 6: 2pm - 8pm + Sunday, September 7: 8am - 10am
- Saturday, September 20: Time TBD + Sunday, September 21: 8am - 10am
- Thursday, September 25: 3:30pm - 7:30pm + Friday, September 26: 8am - 10am
- Thursday, October 16: 3:30pm - 7:30pm + Friday, October 17: 8am - 10am
- Saturday, November 8: Time TBD + Sunday, November 9: 8am - 10am
- Saturday, November 15: Time TBD + Sunday, November 16: 8am - 10am

Requirements:
- The intern must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- The intern must have their driving record verified in order to drive a State vehicle prior to the start of the fall semester
- The intern must have reliable transportation to get to and from the Facilities Services Grounds Complex located at 740 Curry Ct, Greenville, NC 27858
- The intern must be able to work 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, throughout the fall and spring semesters
