Hourly Pay Range:

$32.60 - $48.90 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Medical Technologist (MLS), Senior
  • Location: Evanston Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 3pm-11:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

  • Assumes responsibility for oversite of one or more technical areas or functions within the Lab.
  • Notifies the appropriate Laboratory section Technical Specialist/Supervisor/Manager/Director or designee when stock supplies are low.
  • Undertakes additional or special responsibilities as directed by a Supervisor/Technical Specialist
  • Assists with the training of new hires/students when requested to do so.
  • Attends staff meetings when scheduled and reviews and signs-off on the minutes from all meetings.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
  • Certification: MT, MLS or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Ongoing active certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience as MLS or MLT at Endeavor Health or for an external candidate, four (4) years' experience in a healthcare setting of comparable complexity. MLT: Six (6) years of experience in a healthcare setting of comparable complexity.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel. Demonstrated effective communication and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others, proven initiative and above average job performance. Willingness to assume additional responsibilities of a technical or administrative nature.
