We utilize our world-class manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, UK, India, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia to deliver engineering solutions aligned with efficient manufacturing to meet high-volume production requirements.

The Vice President, M&LS will lead the Medical and Life Sciences business unit specializing in Optoelectronics Technology Solutions for the medical, veterinary, and life sciences markets. This individual will possess strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and the ability to drive innovation and growth in a niche and highly technical field.


Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all operations within the business unit, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market presence, drive revenue growth, and ensure sustainability.
  • Lead the engineering team to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions. Ensure that engineering practices adhere to industry standards and best practices, and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Lead the research and development of cutting-edge optoelectronics products tailored for military and aerospace applications.
  • Conduct thorough market analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Lead the business unit's sales and marketing team to develop effective strategies for promoting products and expanding customer base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the military and aerospace sectors.
  • Ensure all products and operations comply with relevant regulations and standards, particularly those pertaining to medical and life science sectors.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of the Business Unit, with ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) performance, ensuring that financial targets are met or exceeded. Monitor financial metrics, implement cost-control measures, and drive initiatives to enhance profitability.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct. Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company's values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Optoelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles within the optoelectronics industry, with a focus on military and aerospace markets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and organizational abilities.
  • Proven track record in product innovation and development.
  • Excellent market analysis and business development skills.
  • Strong understanding of medical and related industry regulations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • May need to travel to client sites, OSI Operations sites, and industry conferences.
