POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the Technical Applications Group with raw material, finished goods and packaging samples for testing submission, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluation, inventory management in the Sample Storage and Sample Processing room, shipping and compliance with established safety standards and Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP's).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sample Processing

  • Performs standard duties involving the operation, sanitation, and set up of equipment in the Sample Storage room for ambient shelf-life studies, refrigerated and frozen sampling, and packaging samples.
  • Main Point of Contact for laboratory samples and processing.
  • Own and manage sample processing tracker for each project and ingredient and packaging test requirements. Build test plans on laboratory websites to accurately perform the correct methods for each matrix. Be able to lead sample deviation requests.
  • Performs Keeping Quality (shelf-life testing) for finished products by family as directed by Quality or TAG.
  • Become the Super User for the shelf-life submission system for stability sample studies
  • Assist multiple coworkers with projects as needed.

Compliance:

  • Follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies as pertains to role.
  • Build sample plans into databases for sensory evaluations. Own sensory process, design and set-up for review.
  • Subject Matter Expert for ingredient test results.
  • Lead Trainer for TAG Sensory training. Provide sensory training to all new hires and TAG employees when needed who will participate in sample sensory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years' experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 1+ years' experience in operations, food science/culinary, quality, or other relevant field
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, agile
  • Passion for learning
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic statistical skills highly desirable, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Computer literate and proficient user of Word Processing/Spreadsheet/Databases applications.
  • Self-starter - possess strong initiative, professional, team player attitude.
  • Precise and conscientious worker.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently
