HDR is looking for a senior-level coastal engineer and/or modeler in our Tampa, FL office to join our team of nationally ranked professionals. We are looking for a Professional Engineer with the ability to perform
- Analysis, modeling and design of coastal resilience projects including sea level rise infrastructure assessments, coastal numerical modelling shoreline protection projects including revetments and living shorelines, and navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harbors
- Responsibilities will also include preparation of proposals including project scope and fee estimates, staff mentoring, and project management
- Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills and demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, and sediment transport
- A keen interest in interdisciplinary architecture, transportation, and water projects is a plus

- MS or PhD degree in engineering preferred
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Experience with the application of artificial intelligence software to coastal and marine modeling
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- A minimum of 10 years Water Resources experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example:
Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. - HEC-1, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, Storm CAD, Haested Methods
- Experience in water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics and drainage/flood control design
- Familiarity with DOT drainage design criteria
- Experience in FEMA studies a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
