Senior Structural Lab Engineer

• Manage all testing and certification requirements such as TDI, Florida Product Approvals, Miami Dade NOA's, and FM approvals.
• Manage all aspects of testing new products or product changes. Including concept, hypothesis, budget, material procurement, test build, manage contract testing, and meeting ASTM standards.
• With input from Management, prioritize potential R&D projects based on ROI.
• Provide testing and certification support to inside sales, architects, and third-party engineers.
• Coordinate with Marketing when testing and product approvals are updated so all Cornerstone Building Brand websites are updated.
• Communicate needs and difficulties to all members of the team to assure quick disposition of problems.
• Understand the role in the overall system and be willing to step outside that role when required.
• Coordinate work with other departments as required (Technical Services/IT, Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, etc.)
• Coordinate and manage all test materials, tools, and company property related to the test lab and its requirements.

Required

• Previous metal testing or metal installation experience
• Technical expertise to be conversant on all applicable building codes, material design standards, company procedures, computer software programs, and industry sponsored research.

Preferred

• Previous R&D Testing experience
• Associates Degree
• 10-years metal building component design experience, R&D experience, or related field, preferred
• B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering
