Genesis10 is currently seeking a IT Systems Analyst III for a 6 month contract role with our client in the healthcare industry in Eagan, MN. This role is 100% remote.

Summary:

The main function of a business systems analyst is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
  • Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
  • Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
  • Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
  • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
  • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.
  • Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.? Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience required.



This role requires thorough knowledge of SQL querying, data mapping from source to target, analysis of data structures and modeling, eliciting business requirements and converting them to something useful to a developer, etc. Specific software/programming languages: GCP, Redshift, and Azure would be great-to-have's

Team is largely on central time, M-F, 8-5. No OT. No on-call.

Day to day tasks: Diving deep into data structures to understand what data means which things, mapping that data from the source to the target with transformations in between, eliciting business requirements & writing user stories, QA/validation, user acceptance testing

Great candidate qualities/what would make someone stand out

i. Prior experience with mapping data & transformations from a file ingestion to a relational database

ii. Prior experience working on an Agile Product Delivery team

iii. Prior experience working in Google Cloud environment

What are the relevant skills/competencies that make someone successful outside of experience

i. Willingness to learn the data and share their knowledge with others as the SME.

ii. Communication, Communication, Communication - should be able to work independently, but communicate findings in a way that makes sense to others.

iii. Digging deep into what a person says they want, and determining what they actually need from that.

Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay rate $47.00 to $52.00/Hr.

We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
