The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Facility Assessment Consultant to join our team as a member of our growing Technical Services division in Texas.
Program Management
- Perform staffing, capital planning, cost estimating, equipment replacement planning, and infrastructure analysis of facility systems.
- May lead design and process improvement meetings with client and the technology teams.
- Develop and facilitate design, visioning, and exploratory charrettes for clients ranging from the local community to C-level audiences.
- Help define program scope and intent.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators for projects.
- Manage plans, set up budgets and schedules.
- Assess, manage and communicate project risks.
- May develop, establish and manage critical environment standards.
- Recommend enhancements to client plans to Development staff.
- Develop final reports reiterating projects' values.
Analysis
- Participate in long-term facility master planning.
- Support the audits of customer facilities that ensure operating efficiency, optimum air quality, and compliance with the energy policy.
- Define and document energy management strategies for customer facilities including "best practice" recommendations.
- Recommend alternate energy sources and energy conservation measures.
- Perform assessment and inventory of energy, using the equipment, occupancy patterns, and building control systems.
- May facilitate recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, test and balance requirements, maintainability, and potential enhancements of the system.
- Understand the capability of system(s) and documentation to achieve the design intent.
- Understand the design concept and intent by reviewing system construction documentation, including drawings and scheduled equipment.
Support Projects
- Participate in the analyses of utility usage patterns of facilities to establish a baseline and track reductions due to the implementation of conservation measures.
- Document "as-built" conditions and associated client benefits after project completion.
- Prepare energy savings reports with strong technical writing and graphing skills
- Document best practices and lessons learned to improve the design and operational practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
- Five (5) years of experience in building operations, engineering, construction management, architecture, facility engineering or similar field required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BA/BS degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required.
- Experience preparing and delivering C-level presentations required.
- Ability to translate data into information and conveying it to others required.
- Experience in performing long-term facility master planning required.
- Experience in capital planning and cost estimating required.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint required.
- Formal HVAC and/or architecture training/education preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tableau software preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Sketchup preferred

The pay range for this position is $69,300 - $103,930 per year; however, base pay offered my vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. . A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
