The Director of Sales - Fire Protection and Waterworks develops, communicates and executes the short and long-term strategy to grow profitable share and achieve revenue targets through the strategic direction, growth and performance of Wilkins sales efforts in the fire protection and waterworks markets. The position sets sales targets, budgets, and KPIs to drive revenue growth and market share expansion. The Sales Director develops and maintains relationships with key accounts, corporate, and branch leadership, as well as collaborating with cross-functional, internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. The position is responsible for sales growth opportunities and gross profit.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and execute Strategic Sales Plans that align with the organization's goals
  • Leadership of high performing sales team through mentorship and development
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive the successful utilization of the CRM platform.
  • Accountable for driving Municipalities, Contractors, Channel Partner growth and engagement
  • Accountable for forecasting and pipeline management
  • Customer relationship management
  • Market and competitive analysis
  • Collaborate cross functionally through developing strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Sales and KPI performance tracking
  • Effectively manage budget and profitability
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies

Additional Responsibilities

  • Responsive to identified customer needs. Leverages internal resources to meet customer requirements.
  • Utilizes DCRM to understand and capture spec share gains with the top active projects.
  • Drives countermeasure process to deliver sales growth.
  • Provides qualitative intelligence on market trends, competitive activity, and input for multi-generational product plans based on VOC and competitor offerings.
  • Actively involved with industry groups within the Fire Protection and Water Works markets and regions
  • Ability to provide training to the industry.
  • Data Analysis - Analytical mindset and proficiency in data-driven decision making
  • Willingness to travel 40-60%

Education and Experience

  • Business related degree
  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in fire protection, waterworks or related infrastructure sectors
  • Proven success managing channel sales and distributor networks
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinkers with data-driven mindset
