Timmons Group, #125 on Engineering News-Record's 2025 Top 500 Design Firms list is currently seeking aChief Marketing Officer. This individual will be the strategic architect of our brand, responsible for elevating our market presence, driving client engagement, and aligning marketing initiatives with business objectives. You'll lead a talented team of marketing professionals within the business development, proposal and communications teams, while collaborating closely with firm leadership to successfully position the company within the markets we serve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with corporate goals.
    • Lead brand positioning, messaging, and thought leadership initiatives.
    • Guide digital transformation in marketing, including CRM, automation, and analytics.
  • Team Management
    • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team to meet the needs of our internal and external clients.
    • Actively promote staff development and career advancement for our marketing staff.
  • Proposal & Pursuit Strategy
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the proposal team to ensure high-quality, strategic, and timely responses to RFPs and RFQs.
    • Collaborate with technical and business development teams to craft winning proposals and presentations.
    • Implement best practices and tools to streamline processes and improve win rates.
    • Provide insights and guidance on the firm's GO/NO GO decision process; assessing pursuits in light of the firm's strategic goals and positioning.
  • Marketing Communications
    • Lead the development of content strategies, campaigns, and collateral that reflect the firm's expertise, brand and values.
    • Manage public relations, media outreach, and internal communications.
  • Market Intelligence
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform strategy.
    • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally in engineering, or related professional services.
  • Proven success in brand strategy, digital marketing, and integrated campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing, client segmentation, and value proposition development.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High-energy, well-organized, detail-oriented, self-starter.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe suites of products.
  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience is a plus.
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent grammatical, proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Graphic design sensitivity and taste.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing principles in professional services firm. CPSM certification and thorough understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and procedures a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
  • Professional demeanor that enables the person to interact with the highest levels both inside and outside the firm.
