Manager - Cell and Gene Therapy

The Manager - Cell & Gene Therapy is responsible for supporting channel strategy and product access initiatives for Brand and Specialty products within Cencora's distribution companies. This role assists in the development and execution of new product access plans, facilitating cross-functional collaborations with various Cencora Business Units and functional groups. The Manager will play a key role in fostering account management opportunities and fostering successful partnerships with Brand and Specialty Manufacturers. Additionally, this position will support global product access initiatives and assist in coordinating executive engagements.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with outside pharmaceutical suppliers as it relates to policies, issues and profitability.

• Negotiates contracts, establishes sourcing relationships and manages customer-related programs for cell & gene therapy; works towards resolving work issues relative to the trading relationship.

• Supports Strategic Global Sourcing Brand & Specialty RFPs and RFIs by assisting in the development of responses and presentations; collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely responses.

• Collaborates with internal departments such as the Sales teams, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Credit, Customer Service and other Procurement entities in order to promote the best interests of Cencora and to evaluate process improvements related to cell & gene therapy needs.

• Manages the trade affairs with key strategic suppliers to include negotiating business agreements and settling disputes and/or issues.

• Represents and positions Cencora favorably with suppliers and acts as an advocate for Cencora interests relative to suppliers' actions and policies.

• Supports business development and educational activities for the assigned suppliers.

• Manages several contracting programs resulting in increased value for both Cencora and its customers.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

Skills and Knowledge

• Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and industry trends

• Working knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management and/or inventory management principles and methodologies

• Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment

• Ability to deal with confrontational issues in a positive manner

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Excellent negotiating skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

• Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

• Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
