EXPLOSION PROTECTION SERVICE TECHNICIAN
The Suppression System Incorporated, SSI, Explosion Protection Service Technician inspects, test and repair various Explosion Protection Systems and equipment per NFPA standards and manufacturer guidelines. Provides skilled electrical and mechanical support on maintenance and troubleshooting of Explosion Protection systems. Individually and as a team, works towards providing onsite customer service and support in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor locations, and must adapt to dynamic job site environments. Travel to customer sites as needed, including overnight travel, primarily within the domestic U.S. Position Summary * Performs preventative maintenance, system validation, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on Explosion Protection systems and related components. * Conducts system diagnostics, analysis, and validation using appropriate tools and equipment. * Daily service duties will include working at varied heights by implementing ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts as well as working indoors and outdoors. * Prepares and communicates complete and accurate service reports for each piece of equipment serviced, with condition of equipment and any recommendation for repairs needed to required groups. * Communicates with technical support teams and responds promptly to service requests. * Prepares accurate monthly inventory, vehicle inspection, and expense reports. * Evaluates customer sites for potential upgrades or additional services. * Covers a 24/7 on-call week that is rotated among all service technicians throughout the year. * Trained to operate aerial lift equipment safely, works at heights, and obtains aerial lift certification as requested. * Maintains appropriate certifications. * Maintains a professional appearance and positive customer relationships. * Ensures assigned service vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and properly stocked. Required: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Mechanical and electrical aptitude. * Solid verbal and written communication skills. * Valid Driver's license. * Must be able to obtain a passport. * Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). * Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screening, background check and satisfactory driving history. * Overnight travel and afterhours/weekend site support as required. Preferred: * Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Previous field service experience for an industrial product. * Basic knowledge of low voltage electricity and mechanics. * Basic knowledge of hand tool and troubleshooting equipment. * Ability to read and understand blueprints and design layouts.
