This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which servesthe telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Job Purpose

Lead and coordinate safety initiatives and related programs for an assigned region. To execute Enersys Safety goals and support corporate safety initiatives. Additionally, the Regional EHS Specialist will interface and assist in ES Services safety transformation process.

50% Travel required within assigned region

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop environmental, health, safety, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and corporate requirements. Recommends course of action and developing procedures for compliance with new andrevised laws, rules, and regulations.
* Responsible for all required reports to regulatory agencies. Maintains all related records and documents.Interact both verbally and in writing with required agencies.
* Responsible for OSHA, hazardous waste, programs, internal audits, transportation, training, andothers as required.
* Maintain current certification and knowledge of regulatory environment through attendance at workshopsand seminars and the review of The Code of Federal Regulations, The Federal Register and other literature asappropriate.
* Regional Specialist will assist Management in the implementation of its Safety, Health and Environmentalprogram.
* Standardize EHS Policies, Procedures, and Training.
* Perform Job Hazard Analysis and statistical analysis of all incidents and accidents.
* Develop and present training materials
* Proficiency in Hazmat procedures.
* Will conduct periodic site visits to monitor and assess the execution of the Safety program.
* Manage worker compensation programs.
* Manage Facility Audits Annually for compliance.
* Conduct employees, general contractor (GC), and subcontractor safety orientations and safety meetings.
* Join the safety committee meetings to discuss issues, trends, and goals.
* Specialists will coach and provide guidance to the Regional Management team on Safety and Health issues.
* Respond to formal OSHA, EPA, and DOT investigations and participate in hearings.
* Oversee first responder/medical emergency program.
* Assist in ensuring the professional development of the regional staff on safety

Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in safety related positions or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of construction, electrical projects or related experience
  • 5 years of experience in the electrical field
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products
General Job Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to do overnight travel
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
